1972 - 12th National Jazz Blues & Rock Festival

12th National Jazz, Blues & Rock Festival
Richfield Avenue, Reading, UK
August 11-13th, 1972
In it's 12th edition the festival moved back to August and extended it's name to National Jazz, Blues & Rock Festival. This year it was headlined by Curved Air, the Faces and Ten Years After. It also featured the new born projects the Electric Light Orchestra, Roy Wood's Wizzard, and Robert Wyatt's Matching Mole.
Nazareth and Solid Gold Cadillac were both announced in the line-up but they didn't play because they arrived late. Once more, the festival was clouded by the arrest of 130 people by the Thames Valley police, mostly for drug offenses, offensive behavior, or vandalism.
