This year the rhythm and blues acts started to dominate the lineup of the festival with the incorporation of artists like the Yardbirds, Graham Bond Organisation and Manfred Mann. All of them had played regularly at the Marquee club that year. The Rolling Stones were paid the sum of £1000 for the show. Part of their show was filmed on 8mm and is featured in the video "The Continuing Adventures Of The Rolling Stones".
At the end of the the Yardbirds' set there was a jam session which included Jack Bruce, Graham Bond, Mike Vernon, Georgie Fame and Ginger Baker. The BBC filmed the sessions on the Saturday and Sunday nights which were later broadcasted.
