Yes performed the first of 38 gigs at the Marquee club on the 5th of August 1968, although a previous version of the band called Mabel Greer's Toyshop had performed at the club for four nights. This was the second performance in the life of the band after their appreance at Mersea two days before. Yes line-up was formed by Jon Anderson (vocals), Chris Squire (bass, vocals), Peter Banks (guitar, vocals), Tony Kaye (organ) and Bill Bruford (drums).
