Memories on this night
"I had been to the Marquee several times however I will never forget the excitement and energy of that night. The Herd came out and played really well. I remember Peter Frampton playing Acoustic guitar and being really stunned I was wondering if he had done that so as to not compete with Clapton which probably would have been suicidal anyway.
When Cream came on it was amazing I was in the very back of the room standing on a chair with my back to the wall and I could feel the power from the stage vibrating in my chest. When Ginger Baker soloed it was like a train going through the club. Claptons solos were breathtaking to behold and Jack Bruce sang and played his heart out. For a young Irish musician it was the experience of a lifetime."
