On the 17th of December 1968, being already one of the most popular bands of the international rock scene, the Who played their last gig at the Marquee club. The night was announced as "the Who's Xmas" Party and introducing "A Great New Group", which was Yes, who also started a Wednesday residency at the club a few weeks later, on the 1st of January.
