The Strawbs played the first of three appereances at the Marquee club on the 15th of June, 1969. David Bowie, who supported the band. Five days before this gig the Strawbs invited David Bowie to the Arts Lab club to guest on the BBC2 "Colour Me Pop" programme. Bowie apperead miming to one of the song "Poor Jimmy Wilson" accompanied by the producer Tony Visconti.
