On the 1st of January 1969 Yes welcomed the new year by starting a celebrated Wednesday residency at the Marquee club that lasted for 8 months and turned the band into one of the classic bands at the club during the late 60's. The band had already had 9 appereances at the club during the previous months of 1968.
